Pew!… I almost did not post this month, although I completed the project/experiment in the middle of the month. I’ve been learning a new tech stack offtime and working on a project, more on this on a future post.

I had my eye on Gatsby for a while now, ever since one of my friends mentioned it, I wanted to see what it had to offer.

so what to build with gatsby ?

I thought designing a landing page might be a good experiment to do with Gatsby, but did the landing page really had to have Gatsby? Absolutely no, It could have been easily be built by html, css and javascript.

Key advantages of gatsby.

  • Static sites /w React

  • SEO

  • GraphQL

  • workflow

  • plugin support

I have not used SSR particulary with Gatsby, So my thoughts on it is 0.

Would I recomment it to anyone?

Of course, If they already know react. but for a beginners I would not recommend it, especially if they had time constraint to finish the project.
